BLESSING OF THE ANIMALS

The Feast of Patron Saint Frances of Assisi, October 3, 2026.

In honor of the special relationship Francis had with animals, it is common to offer a blessing for the animals in our lives on or around his feast day on October 3.

We bless animals for many reasons: to honor their unique place in our lives, to give thanks to God for the many gifts our animal companions give us, and to recognize the goodness of God which animals also bear, among other reasons.

Please plan to join us on Saturday, October 3 at 2:30pm in the east parking lot for a special, brief worship service and blessing of animals. All animals are welcome, and if your animal companion cannot join you for whatever reason, you are welcome to bring a picture of them to the service. You are also welcome to attend this service without a pet!
